ALBENA
    Albena is located 45 km north of Varna Airport, along the coastal strip of a picturesque Black Sea bay, set off by the luscious verdure of the Baltata nature reserve. The resort is known for its original architecture and ideal natural factors which provide possibilities for holidays and treatment all year round: specific microclimate with a curative, invigorating and hardening effect; fresh air with a high iodine, bromine and fluorine content; favorable combination of high atmospheric pressure, humidity and temperature; plenty of sunshine from May through October; ultraviolet radiation with beneficial biological impact. An ecologically clean region with a safe shore and aquatoria, Albena has been awarded the Blue Flag ecological prize and is a member of the Green Globe Program. DOBROUDJA Hotel houses Bulgaria's largest Medical Spa Center. The natural factors - sea water, sea salt and lye, hydrothermal waters, curative mud, Balkan herbs, bee products and fuller's earth-form the basis of thalassotherapiy and the 100 different procedures applied all year round in the treatment of a wide range of diseases: disturbances of the locomotory system, nervous disorders, cardiovascular diseases, chronic non-specific conditions of the respiratory tract, chronic diseases of the reproductive system, psoriasis and neurodermatitis. HISAR
    The well-known spa of Augusta (Hissar's ancient name) is situated in the southern slopes of the Sredna Gora Mountains, close to the famous Valley of Roses. Town's history dates back to IV c. BC. In the year 293 Roman Emperor Diocletian visited the settlement. He surrounded it with walls and declared the hot springs and imperial possession. Places and marble baths had been built and the place became soon a beautiful resort for the Roman aristocrats. The nonparcil preserved fortress wall, ancient amphitheatre, Roman baths, dwellings and basilicas offer a unique attraction for every visitor. Today, Hisar is a modern spa resort which greatest assets are the 22 natural and prospected hydro mineral sources with a total exploitation flow of about 2800 l/min. The water is mainly indicated for treatment of diseases of the kidneys and secretory system, liver and gall bladder, the digestive system and pancreas. Particularly good treatment results are achieved with comprehensive hydrotherapy and climatic cures, physiotherapy and kinesitherapy in cases of diseases of the kidneys and secretory system, such as a kidney stone, pyelonephritis, chronic nephritis and chronic renal insufficiency. Excellent therapeutic results have also been achieved with the use of mineral waters for the treatment of diseases of the liver, pancreas, gall bladder and bile ducts. A very good effect is exerted on cholelithiasis by means of subaqueous intestine baths. KYUSTENDIL
    Situated at the foot of Ossogovska Mountain and the Evergreen Park Hissarlika, Kyustendil (ancient Pautalia) is one of Bulgaria's best known climatic and spa resorts. The climate is temperate continental with a Mediterranean influence. The resort's main curative factors are its numerous mineral springs with a temperature of 71°C to 73°C, characterized as sulphide, silicic, fluorine, hyper thermal and slightly mineralized, and the curative pest which is rich in organic substances. Indications for treatment: chronic inflammatory conditions of the joints, disturbances of the peripheral nervous system, a number of diseases of the reproductive system and sterility. Comprehensive treatment includes procedures with mineral water and peat, electric and light paraffin applications, curative massage, reflex therapy, laser acupuncture and kinesitherapy.

SANDANSKI
    Sandanski is located at an altitude of 224 m in the foothills of the Pirin Mountains, along Sandanska Bistritsa river surrounded by parkland, extending over 170 ha with lovely scenery, wonderful climate and curative mineral waters. The resort climate and its silicic, mildly fluorine, hyperthermal (42-81°C), slightly mineralized, hydrocarbonic-sulphatesodium waters make possible treatments. Resort conditions are particularly conducive to the treatment of bronchial asthma in its three forms atopic, infectious allergic and combined. The comprehensive balneo-climatic treatment in the resort also exerts a beneficial effect on a number of other conditions: a non-specific pulmonary diseases: chronic bronchitis, post-pneumonia or post-bronchopneumonia states, chronchiectasis, early pulmonary emphysema; conditions of the upper respiratory tract: chronic rhinitis, sinusitis; disturbances of the locomotory system of a degenerative or inflammatory origin: osteoarthrosis rheumatoid arthritis, tenosynovitis; neurological complaints: plexitis, radiculitis, slipped disc; allergic skin diseases: urticaria, psoriasis; some kidney and urological diseases and conditions of the digestive system: gastritis, gastric and duodenal ulcers in remission, colitis, glomerulonephritis, cystopyelitis.

    Along with your stay in Sandanski, you can take a trip to Pirin National Park and Roupite - an unusual place and an unusual church, built by the phenomenal Bulgarian clairvoyant Vanga, 20 km from Sandanski, try the famous wine of Melnik and see the town's pyramids - a unique natural phenomenon or visit Rozhen Monastery.
VARNA
    St. Constantin is located 10 km northeast of the city of Varna. A natural park, vast beach strip covered with fine sand, clean sea, mineral waters with a temperature of 420C, slightly mineralized, hydrocarbonic, chloride, sodium-magnesium - all these natural factors combine to make this a particularly attractive resort. The spa center in GRAND HOTEL VARNA is equipped with modern physiotherapy apparatuses and hydrotherapy facilities and offers more than 100 different prophylactic and treatment procedures: electric treatment, solariums, inhalations with mineral or sea water and various medical preparations, balneotherapy with pearl, whirl, galvanic, four-chamber and contrast baths with mineral or sea water in combination with herbal extracts, lye and medical preparations, mud treatment, paraffin applications, kinesitherapy-passive and active, reflexotherapy-acupuncture, acupressure, su-jok and moxatherapy, phytotherapy, aromatherapy etc. The general indications for treatment in the hotel's spa center are: chronic inflammatory and degenerative disturbances of the locomotory system and the peripheral nervous system, hypertonia, bronchial astma, neuro-vegetative complaints, n on-specific chronic inflammatory conditions of the respiratory tract, disturbances of the endocrine system and metabolism, mental and physical fatigue, stress and other functional disturbances of the nervous system. VELINGRAD
    Velingrad is a well-known spa and climatic resort in South Bulgaria. It is located in one of the most picturesque part of The Rhodope Mountains - the Chepin valley. The resort's mineral water well up from 70 springs with a total flow of over 150 l/sec or 9.000 l/min. They are hiperthermal with temperatures ranging from 22°C to 88°C, slightly mineralized, silicic, flourine, sulphate-carbonate-sodium. The resort is located at an altitude of 750-850 m. The climate is temperate continental, mild and fresh. The average annual temperature is 10°C, average July is 19°C. Comprehensive climatic and spa treatment is supplemented by diets and fruit cures, terrain cures, aerosol therapy, criotherapy, kinesitherapy, physiotherapy and herbal treatment. Successfully treated here are non-specific conditions of the respiratory tract: chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis; disturbances of the locomotory system: degenerative and inflammatory diseases of the joints, gout, periarthritis, tendinitis, bursitis; neurological disorders: neuroses, stress, neuritis, radiculitis and polyneuritis; gynaecological complaints; cardiovascular diseases: hypertonia and hypotonia, early forms of atherosclerosis and Buerger's disease.
